Webinar | Having a privacy policy
10th September 2025 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
| R742Your privacy policy is your promise to your data subjects, the people whose personal information you process (like your customers), on what you’re going to do with their data. It explains how you’ll handle their personal information, which is important for building trust by showing them you respect their privacy and how you plan to protect it. Once you have set your policy, you must adhere to it, as non-compliance with your privacy policy can lead to serious trouble. If you break that promise, it will have real consequences for you. So it’s important what you say and how you say it.
Your privacy policy is a key mechanism that helps you comply with data protection principles.
Different people refer to a privacy notice (in the UK), a privacy statement (in the US), or privacy disclosure, but they are all really the same thing. Sometimes the privacy policy is included in the terms, but we don’t suggest you do this. Your privacy policy should be separate from your terms and should set out how an organisation uses a data subject’s personal data.
We’re diving deep into the world of privacy policies, explaining their purpose and different types. We will explore how to draft the perfect policy for your organisation, considering relevant factors and processing context. We’ll provide tips, examples, and tools to help you build a policy that fosters trust and transparency. Which data protection authorities have provided us with effective templates? Should you use the Shopify or WordPress privacy policy templates? Should you use AI to draft your privacy policy?
Join us for our webinar to help you have an excellent privacy policy.
