Roundtable | Implementing data localisation | Public
10th July 2024 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Data localisation laws require organisations to process data within a particular territory or location—for example, storing locally—in a particular country or a local computing environment rather than in the cloud. There are a growing number of data localisation laws. For example, Biden signed an executive order that created an American data localisation law. The trend is alarming in that they can create onerous obligations for organisations that result in significant cost increases. Many argue that they are the biggest threat to adopting the cloud.
They can prevent you from using the cloud.
The discussion will allow you to meet and network virtually with your peers from other organisations, letting you exchange ideas and share pains, tips, and tricks to help fast-track some of your initiatives.
Outcomes
- Know what data localization is by having someone explain it to you and seeing examples.
- Identify the pain points related to it by workshopping the consequences.
- Be equipped to help the technical people in your organisation to find solutions.
