In this rapidly evolving digital era, artificial intelligence (AI) is transforming the landscape of our legal profession, and generative AI (genAI) models are emerging as a valuable tool for us. From drafting contracts to writing website content, genAI can provide us, as legal professionals, with a powerful means to streamline our work. According to research, genAI (like ChatGPT) will significantly impact the job of a legal assistant, writer and journalist, which means that we should all be using genAI extensively to help us perform these tasks.

AI will not replace lawyers. Lawyers who do not use AI will be replaced by those that do.

Key questions we must ask ourselves in the future:

  • What is the best way to achieve a legal outcome for my client?
  • Should I ask a human or AI to help me perform a task?
  • Who should I delegate this task to?

We must explore this over time and determine some guidelines for delegating work effectively. However, great power comes with great responsibility, and we must consider legal and ethical concerns and limitations.

GenAI is a revolution for legal professionals. It will devour thirty per cent of the activity of lawyers and legal experts. Alain Bensoussan.

Michalsons and the Lexing Network, the leading international network of lawyers dedicated to digital and emerging law, bring you this event.
