We’re seeking a highly skilled and experienced Legal Executive Assistant to support our attorneys in delivering legal services to our clients. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional communication, organisational, and time-management skills and the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced legal environment. In addition, the successful candidate would ideally have worked in a legal setting where they were responsible for coordinating complicated legal matters. This would include managing timelines and deadlines, preparing legal documents and maintaining a documents register, coordinating with clients and other professionals, conducting legal research, and ensuring that agreements are properly signed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Studies, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal support role, preferably in a law firm or corporate legal department
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise and multitask effectively
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, clients, and other parties
  • Proficient in G-Suite, Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, and Teams. (Prezi and Trello are nice to haves).
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
  • Strong work ethic and ability to work independently, as well as part of a team
  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities and demands in a fast-paced legal environment.

How you will contribute:

You will be part of our Support team. “Support”- because we support both clients and the attorneys at Michalsons. The role is a new one and will develop as we prioritise over time. Tasks will include

  • Co-ordinate client matters: managing timelines and deadlines, preparing legal documents and maintaining a documents register, coordinating with clients and other professionals, conducting legal research, and ensuring that agreements are properly signed
  • Preparing for online workshops, (getting documents ready, setting up online polls, scheduling and communicating with attendees)
  • Managing some billing
  • Meeting weekly with individual associates to determine how you can help them
  • Learning how to manage our support desk on an ad hoc basis
  • Take notes in meetings occasionally
  • Research client information
  • Keep systems up to date with information
  • Work through lists to identify specific data
  • Work with the support team when necessary
  • Work with the project manager when necessary
  • Assist the associates with project administration and planning when necessary
