The POPPY Act is actually spelled POPI Act. Many people have heard of the Protection of Personal Information Act and incorrectly think that it is spelled POPPY, rather than POPI. It is an easy mistake to make. You’re forgiven.

It is not the POPPY Act

But isn’t the POPPY Act? It is the POPI Act, which was enacted by the President in 2013. Otherwise, you might be looking for the POPPY Regulation Act 2014, which regulates the growing of poppy flowers in the Nothern territory of Australia. It regulates the growing of opium poppy, including the cultivation, processing, transportation, and storage of poppy material. It tries to reduce the risk to the safety and security of people from the use of products made from poppy seeds.

Finding a good acronym for a law is not always easy. For example, what should the acronym for the Cybercrimes and Cybersecurity Bill Be? CaC Bill?

The acronym POPPY Act makes me very confused. It makes me think of dolls, red flowers, and puppies at the same time, which is quite an image or visual picture.
