Andrew is a practical and internationally experienced commercial attorney. He is a clear thinker and excellent communicator. He maintains a strong interest in all areas of commercial, information, communications and technology law.
2010 – Present: Senior Associate at Michalsons
He currently works extensively in information governance, data protection, privacy and consumer law with a strong sector focus on healthcare, financial services, media and IT. He has presented many practical workshops on data protection law and compliance, and drafting complex legal documents in plain language.
Andrew has years of experience in assisting with multinationals comply with UK Data Protection Act making him very qualified to help various organisations comply with data protection laws (including the EU’s GDPR and South Africa’s new Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA)). He has presented to many boards, executives, workshops and at conferences. Andrew is also committed to using plain legal language in legal documents and agreements and has been interviewed on national radio on this focus area.
