Webinar | Why trustworthy AI matters | Members and public
27 February @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Some people believe innovation is more important than safety. Some countries want to win the AI race at any cost and dominate other nations. This is evidenced by the AI Safety Summit 2023 being renamed the AI Action Summit 2025 and the refusal of some countries to sign the declaration. We believe that AI must be developed and used responsibly and safely. It must be appropriately governed. You must get governance, risk and compliance right in your organisation. Failing to do so leads to a breakdown in trust, which leads to harm and a failure of the technology itself – AI, in this case.
Trustworthy AI matters to both people and AI itself.
The first and most important thing to consider is the question of ‘why’. Why is trustworthy AI so important? Why do Parliaments and authorities enact AI regulations? Why is it important that we comply with them? ‘Why’ is an excellent tool to help people understand the reasons behind a subject and to get them to buy into it. If you can provide actual examples, people will know what you’re trying to achieve and why you’re trying to achieve it, which makes them much more likely to care about it and follow you.
Building and using AI systems with a strong emphasis on trustworthiness is important.
We provide a comprehensive understanding of the ethical, societal, and practical reasons behind the importance of trustworthy AI in various applications (and the commercial benefits of doing so). You’ll explore real-world examples of AI successes and failures, highlighting the potential consequences of deploying AI systems that lack transparency, fairness, and accountability.
Create long-term sustainability by understanding the long-term benefits of building trustworthy AI. Explore how trustworthy AI practices lead to sustainable business models, reduced reputation risks, and increased user adoption.
