Webinar | Protecting our children | Members only
30th August 2023 @ 10:00 am - 11:00 am
Every child deserves protection from the law and any organisation that deals with those children. This is the starting point of our upcoming webinar. Children are part of the most vulnerable groups in our society, and if organisations don’t process child personal information lawfully, the affected children can suffer great harm.
Children today are exposed to more digital media than any other generation that has come before. The online world has great benefits for children but there are undeniable risks involved. If you are involved in dealing with children in your organisation, the question is: are you doing enough to safeguard children from being exposed to unnecessary harm?
In June 2021, the Information Regulator published a Guidance Note on the processing of child personal information. Many expected this guidance to help them better safeguard the processing of children’s personal information, but the reality was different. We have yet to receive additional and consolidated guidance from the regulator.
Regardless of how and when you process children’s personal information, there are important considerations for you that we will aim to cover in our webinar.
Outcomes
- Improve how you process children’s personal information by looking at some of the ways organisations process children’s personal information lawfully and unlawfully.
- Know why the processing of children’s personal information deserves special protection and how you can process it lawfully.
- Reduce your risks by knowing what to do and looking at what penalties have been issued by regulators around the world and how you can prevent it.
Panel
