Cookies are the simple internet technology which enables the personalisation of our internet browsing experience. Spell checkers, automatic calendaring, text-to-speech solutions all need access to our communications so they can function in a personal way. It is the feature that allows shopping carts to remember what we are thinking of buying as we move from one web page to another and automatic log-ins to remember our passwords. Advertisers also make use of cookies. They use the information collected about us to show us more targeted advertisements. That is why we often have the eerie feeling of advertisers being mind readers. Cookies are used throughout our internet browsing experience and in this webinar, we will demonstrate how to use them lawfully.
