Jesse-Lee Wrensch worked at Michalsons until February 2025. He focused on solving legal problems with simplicity and speed. An academic at heart, Jesse is always trying to explain complicated concepts in simple terms for anyone to understand. He believes that we should draft the law in plain language for everyone to understand. Jesse has gathered a variety of different work experience working as tech support in the university computer labs, a researcher and tutor while studying his masters and even a brief stint as a corporate zombie.  He uses these experiences and skills to assist and support clients for their different needs.

In his free time, you will find Jesse-Lee Wrensch hiding behind his PlayStation either aggressively shouting at his teammates to come to save him or screaming in terror as he plays the latest horror games.   With the rest of his time, you will typically find Jesse wondering the mountains in search of his next adventure or dreaming what it would be like to be a superhero while reading his favourite comic books.

Jesse joined Michalsons in 2019 after working at a large corporate law firm. He is an Information Technology lawyer who has dealt with a wide variety of different tech-related issues. Jesse primarily focuses on:

  • data protection law and compliance with a specific emphasis on how data protection affects researchers and franchises;
  • drafting and negotiating IT contracts;
  • digital entertainment law, including how the law affects video games and digital media;
  • intellectual property law and how intellectual property is affected by the digital world; and
  • company law including, sale of shares and shareholders agreements.

Jesse currently assists clients by:

  • drafting opinions and memoranda on issues pertaining to data protection law, intellectual property law and digital entertainment law;
  • facilitating workshops and participating in discussions around various ICT related issues; and
  • drafting and reviewing different types of commercial contracts.
